...for Jaguar Server?

We have an Xserve and ADC license and we've downloaded the latest developer release and the actual boxed software is on the way. I just need a yes or no to answer whether this is a usable version of the OS or if I should wait til our faux-fur box arrives? We're in a time crunch situation, so that's why I'm wondering.

5 points to the first one to answer. Thanks!

Yes, the latest Developer Release (Build 6C115) is the same like in the final Box!

Okay... that is incredibly scary. I can't believe this is release candidate software. I get bizarre screen redraw issues, preferences for new users don't stick, sluggish Workgroup Mgr performance... Wow.

For those that have a working 10.1.5 server configuration, please think doubly hard about upgrading, especially if it's in a critical environment. I'm going to try wiping the server and reinstalling. Wish me luck.

I have also installed the Developer Release on my Xserve with 30 virtual domains and it run's perfectly. I didn't see any of the mentioned problems. Did you make a clean install or upgraded the existing version?

Whoa... Cupertino. That's great to hear that it can be done.

Our set up is very simple. We have the Xserve and a few client G4s. I set up the Xserve to share the domain netinfo/root to client computers and set the /Users/ folder as a share point. It is set to automount to clients in netinfo/root dynamically under /Network/Servers.

On the client side I set the machine to look for a specific netinfo database at the IP address of the Xserve. It is able to find it and authenticate just fine... I can even see the path to the user's directory.

Is your set up a Netinfo or LDAP configuration? Our's was a clean install, by the way. Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks!
