Rebuilding Apache/mod_perl on OS X Server... anyone been brave enough to try?

I've seen some instructions but they are for regular OS X; I know the distro of Apache included in X Server is heavily integrated with the admin tools, so I'm kinda worried about breaking it but I really need a new Apache/mod_perl (i updated perl to 5.8.0 so everything else must be updated too)

omfg I can't believe everything actually works...

looks like I won't be using Server Settings but that **** is crap anyway, its all about the .conf
