I have persuaded my ISP to enable webdav in order to share iCal calendars. It has been set up so it requires log/password both to read and upload, which is fine when using iCal.
But I would like to use phpicalendar, in order to be able to view the calendars from browsers too, and the ISP guy don't think it is possible to set it up in a way that you have to use log/pass to upload but everyone can read (it's no problem that everybody can read the calendars).
Does anyone know if that is possible, and if yes, how to do it?

TIA,
Peter

you would usually setup webdav in a directory, for instance http://www.host.com/webdav . Then i would just setup phpicalendar to use /path/to/webdav as your data directory, with http://www.host.com/phpicalendar as your public calendar directory.

make sense?

Had sick kids, so a bit late on the reply...
Well it does make sense, but I can't make it work - when phpicalendar tries to get the .ics files, it can't get them as they require password in order to be read, even if I specify /path/to/.ics files in the config file.

But thanks for the reply!

I'm not very familiar with the webDAV works, so please forgive me if i'm stating something that's obviously wrong...

Isn't this just a matter of changing the permissions on the files that you want to be publicly accessible, but not publicly changed?
You could set it up so that everyone can read/execute, but only the owner can write...

Just a thought,
Steve

I had that thought too - but after trying it out (on my own computer), I found out that it seemed to mess up the webdav setting :-(

But if anyone has succeded in doing it, please let me know.

Thanks,
Peter
