I have an XServe with 4 internal disks.
I would like to use 1 as the startup disk and the other three forming a RAID 5 array.
The problem is that I have found no way of doing this. Apple utilities only allow to create a striped array of disks (RAID0) which in case of failure on a drive I would loose everything.

Thanks a lot,

Apple's Disk Utility will only create raid 0 (concat) or raid 1 (mirror) arrays. It won't create raid 5.

If you want software-based RAID 5, you'll need NXRAID, available at http://www.virtspace.com/NYRO/nxraid/
