Hi group

I have an Xserve which is showing the orange warning light. On checking Server Monitor it appears the processor blower has failed. The processor temperature is 42 degress C. I have left it on for a few days and it seems to be ok and stable.

Is there a redundant fan or can it still work after such a failure, or is the warning a false one - any ideas.

The reason I ask is because here in the UK you can't buy spare parts, only the special kits from Apple, and ONLY at time of purchase of the Xserve - absolutely useless!!

If anyone knows how to get just a single replacement blower do let me know :-)

No, you can order the kit anytime you want, just click on AppleCare on the Apple Store.

Try and contact an Apple dealer to see if he can order a single blower as a spare part.
