Hey. I have one Ethernet card, the build in, and I use Brickwall to do NAT and the Firewall for me. All ports needed to NetBoot is open. I use OS X Servers's DHCP, not Brickwalls.
When I use my "server" only IP's (static, internet IP's), dealing them out to DHCP, NetInstall works great on my clients !! But when I use my internal IP (192.168.1.x) through DHCP it doesn't work. I have also tried this with no ports blocked (and, no ipfw and just NAT), and the server works perfect with everything else of Network. The server is set up to have the ".1" IP in the Network "System Preferences".
Quick help would be great !! I have some custom packages I want to install on my school.
When I do regualr boot up's with my client, everything works great using the internal IP's. Even the shared NetInfo directory works flawless !!
New info: Yeah, and btw. NetBoot loads, and in verbose mode I see alot of things happen. It is first when it is going to mount the .dmg that it fails. Then it uses the static IP, instead of 192.168.1.1. Regulary my static IP works great to connect to the server on the local net with.
Strange…
