when I turn on WebSharing in OS X and I tye in http:/myharddrive'sname.local I see my page. Can i use this to tell my friends so they can check my site? Is this the same as typing my static IP address? It would seem easier to remember...

You can't give this out to people over the internet as it won't work. This is Rendezvous at work, it only works for other computers on the same subnet.

Also it should be http://computername.local, or else everyone would be using http://Macintosh%20HD.local
