Have a server running os x server (10.1.2). somehow (i think a student accidently dragged the wrong thing to his trash, but not sure--not a virus) all my files were deleted from the "Yearbook" folder. Unfortunately, I have not been backing up (admonishment not necessary--lesson learned). Is there any way to recover the lost data? I know the files are actually not gone but rather available to be overwritten.

You can use Norton. You will get mixed results. The biggest thing is to turn off the machine and not use it until you are ready to recover. All writes are potentially destructive.
