Ok, no other mentions of Netboot problems, so here goes.
I installed a machine with OS X 10.3 client, set it up and made an image of the hard drive. I used that image in the network disk utility (or whatever it's called - can't check anyway cos I'm reinstalling server!) to create a netboot image.
For some reason the network disk utility app thinks it's a 10.2 image, but that's neither here nor there for now - the client isn't even getting that far. I've gone into Server Admin and started up the Netboot service and told it to use my image as the default.
When I restart the client machine, holding down the N key, nothing much happens. It sends a DHCP request for an IP address but never gets any further. On the server, I've got DHCP service set up and on, so that's not where the problem lies.
In the Netboot logs, after the DHCP request entry, it binds to 127.0.0.1/local and then there's a line that says Netboot failed because it's trying to access "/config/NetBootServer/" and the directory doesn't exist. /config DOES exist in the server's NetInfo directory, however the NetBootServer subdirectory doesn't exist. Should it?
Does anyone have any other ideas as to why it's not working? At present, I'm reinstalling 10.3 server and doing a full install - last time I cut out all the extra language gubbins. I doubt it'll make any difference, but it's worth a shot.
Thanks
