I am a bit confused as to where data is actuall stored when you create a Network Home Directory.
I an XSERVE that is an Open Directory Server, I create a user account, and a Network Home Directory for that user. I have a test machine that is set to authenticate against the Open Directory Server, that works. The User can log in, and gets a Network Home Directory. Files can be written to that directory. If I mount that same share via AFP, those user files are not visible. If I copy files via AFP to that Share, it is not visible in the users Network Home Directory view.

Where are these files really stored?

The Network home directory should explicitly state the exact URL to the home directory, e.g.

/network/servers/users/

I suspect you have it set up incorrectly... read the documentation carefully! Because an AFP mount should show it.

Are you properly automounting the directories? The automounter is a PITA to get working right, reboot all machines a couple times, includin the server :-)

Yup, well you were correct. I did indeed have it set up incorrectly. I Recreated the Automountable AFP Share Point for Home Directories, recreated my users Home Directory, now it works like I expect.

Thanks for turning on the light.

Happy New Year
