I am working in a lab of macs on my college campus and we want to set up a netboot server. Is it possible to netboot without having the netboot server running as a DHCP server also. So far I have the server set up, but the client machines don't see it. Thanks for your help.

I don't know the specifics of it, but I do know that it is possible, via the OS X command line or Open Firmware command line, to set a specific NetBoot server. Apple's website probably tells you how.

It is far easier with DHCP set up.

Remember, you just need to configure the existing DHCP server (if there is one) to add the NetBoot server as Boot server.

If there is no DHCP server set up, I advise you to set one up. Makes life a lot easier, and it is easier than you think.
