Hello.
I am working with a small business of about 20 people. We are looking in to implementing a MS Small Business Server Solution. However, before doing so, I want to consider whether Mac OS X Server can provide us with similar features at a similar cost.
The main thing we like is the remote access feature of Windows 2003 server (being able to acces our work PC's from home via the internet) and the Outlook Web Access interface.
I personally am a Mac user at home, and I realized I know almost nothing about OS X Server and how it compares with SBS and other Server products.
So I was just curious as to whether anyone can say whether they would recommend it for a small business with users who travel and may need access to their desktops as well as network resources.
Also is there an exchange equivalent on the Mac OS X server?
If anyone could point me to where I might learn more about who should condsder this option (ie what types of organizations, is this enterprise level or would it work for a small business) as well as what people are saying about their experience with OS X server (non-technical users) I would much appreciate it.
Thank you,
O

Sure, it's good for these things. Have a look at www.apple.com/server for some details. There's an email server, and an LDAP server, etc. And it's good for local and remote data/files, etc. There's not a 100% exchange replacement "built in," because there's no calendar server. For that I believe you need something like Kerio's mail server.

Thank you for the info. Does anyone know if there is a demo available? Either of the software of a demo server that apple has running somewhere?
Peace,
