Hi all. I wanted to pick everyone's brains who have OS X Server running netbooted workstations. I wanted to know if anyone is running video applications off of the servers, like Final Cut Pro. My organization is looking into setting up multiple editing stations via Xserve and netboot.

I'm in the process of talking with Apple regarding software licensing issues and costs.

Any input is appreicated in regards to configuration, where the program should be run from, success with firewire devices connected to netbooted workstations capturing to drives over a network, etc.

I've not done what you are proposing but having just comleted OSX Server training (combo training) I'd reiterate the comments of our Apple instructor when he admonished us to pay close attention to the infrastructure, making sure that there was adequate ethernet speed and switching. Think 100 baseT, fully switched. I'm assuming the scratch disk will be on a local or firewire disk and it is just the application that will be netbooted? Tell us a little more about about your configuration...
