Is there a way? When I connect to a OS X Client or Server from a OS 9 machine all the views default to Icon view. How can I get it to show list view when I connect??? and stay....
TIA!!!

If I remember correctly, you have to boot the OS X machine into OS 9, and set the windows as you like them. Then, reboot the machine into OS X. OS 9 clients that connect to the OS X box should see the new window settings automatically.

Wow, thanks, guess I'll be putting an OS 9 Sys on this machine as I was trying to avoid installing 9.

I don't think you have to install OS 9 onto the OS X machine; only boot into OS 9. You should be able to boot off an OS 9 CD, make the window changes, and then boot back into OS X. I'm not certain, however; you'll have to try.

You can always just launch the old Finder in Classic. Simply make a copy of it and change its type to APPL, drag it to the Dock and launch it from there (for some reason it won't launch from the Finder).

But this still means I have to install OS 9. Man all I want is a stand alone OS X server that does what the ASIP 6.3.3 servers do. If we can't get the views to default to list, going to have some very unhappy clients. This is already happening with one of our NT 4 servers and for the life of me don't know why it won't default to list views without the Dave client on the workstations....
