Hello all,

Does OS X Server do all that the client version does? As you can use any software that will run on Win2K Pro on Win2K Server, is the same true with OS X or are they different beasts altogether? Haven't really noted it either way from Apple's docs on the products.

Best regards,
Chris

Actually they are the exact same thing. When you install OS X Server and go to customize you see all of the same options that you did with the Client (except it doens't have as many languages) and then there are also all of the extra server options that apear on the bottom of the list. It is the same thing but Server has more programs.

I presume, then, that's it's safe to assume that there's a Classic layer as well? Silly question, but worth asking...

Best regards,
Chris

Yes, as with X client, you have the option of installing Classic.
I have my X server setup with Classic (basically just to support
running Dreamweaver, as everything else I need runs under X now).

Great news! Looks like my next box is going to have Server on it instead of the Client I also develop with Dreamweaver/UltraDev and that's my primary concern.

Best regards,
Chris
