If I am hosting a website on my Mac, with the dns pointing to the static IP assigned to my ethernet, and I have Airport running with higher priority (in the network control panel), will the website still work fine? It seems to ping all right and I haven't found any problems, but are there any known issues?

Assuming the ethernet and AirPort are running in different subnets, the only relevance will be the gateway addresses. These are used to determine where the system will send all non-local traffic. If your default gateway is set on the AirPort, then that's where the outgoing traffic will be set.

If you leave the default gateway blank on the airport setup, and enter your router's address in the Ethernet setup, you should be fine. Only local traffic will go over the airport link
