Okay here goes one for the MacManagers on the board... I'm testing out netboot+MacManager and found a problem.

The server is a new G4 Dual 1Gig with gobs of ram and a 100T connection. OS X Server is the latest and greatest with all updates applied.

Netboot works just fine. MacManager kicks in at boot-up also just fine. I log-in as a normal user and try to put something in the trash.

This is the problem:

When I (try to) put something into the finder kicks back and tells me that I MUST trash it NOW. In other words it can't be left in the trash. Is there some way to prevent this from happening?

Any ideas/tips/pointers would be great!

Dave

Hasn't anyone here done netboot+macmanager?

On a side question... Are there any other forums that would be a better place to ask about such things?

Thanks

Dave

Try the Apple Support Discussion forums. Someone there might know.

I'm assuming you're trying to trash a file on a remote volume. AFP requires the file to be deleted immediately. I'm not aware of any simple solution. Contacting Apple is probably your best bet.
