I get the following error whenever I send mail using sendmail or mail:

This occurs when sending internal or external mail. What is causing this to happen? I am running AppleMailServer with SMTP. Sendmail is actually working despite the message, but I feel the need to fix this.

This is a file permissions problem. I had the same problem

Here is the fix. log in the terminal and type

chmod go-w / /etc /etc/mail /var /var/spool /var/spool/mqueue then hit return

type chown root / /etc /etc/mail /usr /var /var/spool /var/spool/mqueue

then hit return. that should be it.
