Very often, attempts to login to client OS X machines (to server accounts) fails first thing in the morning... a reboot fixes it. That is so common, that some in the company just automatically reboot when they get in in the morning. (The server rarely needs rebooting.)

Do others see this?
Is it OS X client, OS X server, or my router that is likely the culprit?
Anyone know a fix?

Thanks.

Yes, we have this problem, in fact even worse. It seems that after a while the clients are no longer able to see the server ... this can happen even while logged in (i.e. home & apps directories disappear ... fun). Sometimes (if already logged in), relaunching the finder helps.

But I have no idea where the problem lies. Unfortunately, it doesn't make for a very impressive "Server", our users complain a lot, and even get kernel panics because some app is running off the server, which then vanishes ... OS X Server needs to fix this basic problem and fast.

One solution "might" be to server using NFS ... but that is a hassle for other reasons ...
