I'm tempted to give OS X Server a try on my personal 400MHz Blue and White G3. However, it seems that there are some real issues including the ATI Rage incompatibility in the Mac OS 8.5 mode and other difficulties described on this board. Am I Nuts? Should I simply bite my lip and wait for OS X for the home user?

I say try it. I'm running MOSX from a partition on my main drive on an "unsupported" 7300/180 with an ATI Xclaim 3D card and while there was a glitch for me right at the end of the installation sequence (hung doing config at end of setup mgr), it has worked fine since. Onm a supported configuration like this, there shouldn't be any problem so long as you partition your disk carefully. Do a backup.

I am finding that I'm using a fair bit of my unix knowledge but that might just be with my unfamiliarity with the Window Manager, it's very OpenStep.

Ben.
