Using Mac OS X as a router?

	Is it possible to make OS X as a router/gateway for a local network? I have an additional ethernet card in a blue g3 and each port is now connected to a separate network. I have tried the route command manually as in the case of unix routing but the two subnets cannot see each other. Please send solutions direct and I will repost the complete solution later on. Thanks
