mac os x server on a umax c500???

i have a umax c500 603e 200mhz 112MB ram and a4gig harddrive that i would like to use as a server (mac os x server!) has anyone had a sucessful install on one of these clones. i know OS X is for g3's but i heard that people have been running them on less of a machine

As far as I know, it won't be stable at all, if you get it to work at all.

The required hardware is a 233 megahertz G3 processor and above. Even with an early iMac, an early Power Macintosh G3, or an early PowerBook G3, the system runs quite slowly.

I am not saying that it's not possible. What I am saying is that it isn't going to be very fast, if it works at all.

To run Mac OS X Server, I'd reccomend nothing less than a Power Macintosh 8600/9600 with a lot of RAM.

Furthermore, the 200 megahertz 603ev processor that the UMAX C500 series computers use is comparable to an early PowerPC 604 microprocessor. I ran a benchmark test on my Performa 6400/200, and the results were comparable to a 120 megahertz Power Macintosh 8500. That's not nearly fast enough to run Mac OS X.
