I tried to reach a TCP/IP configured printer from the print manager (not terminal) by lpr
From a standard Mac 9 with a configured lpr desktopprinter it works.
The same information was provided to the lpr configuration of the print manager. But the queue does not work.
You can ping the printer from a terminal window.
When I send the lpr command from the terminal window (lpr -P "printername" "filename") it gets in to the correct printqueue but there it stucks.
When I configure the printer with appletalk then it works.
What am I doing wrong?

Hello

We did not get any info or solution from anybody!!!!!!
Since we worked with appletalk (what a cool protocol) we did not check it out again.
There are changes in the printing tool since 10.1.
We did not try it anymore since 10.1 on the BSD level,
we will be trying it again and inform you, sorry
Lisa
