With the new badge "Powered by MacOS X Server" on Apple's Website I wonder if we're going to see a new version of Mac OS X Server will be released along side an update to the beta of MacOS X Client. I think this because why wouldn't they post their website on MacOS X server before?

The reason they didn't have the badge up before is because back then it wasn't running on OSXS, it was running Netscape Enterprise server on Solaris. Even now, many parts of Apple's site run other servers:
the Tech Info Library runs Lotus Domino, the Mac Products Guide runs FileMaker Pro I think, many parts run other things, including (shudder) NT server, and Linux.

Oh I know that's why the badge was there before... but my curiousity asks "Why Now?" Why not before? That's where I think Apple is running off a newer version OS X Server becasue if they didn't choose to use it then means it couldn't handle the load that Apple's site gets, my guess is the newer verson of OS X server can handle the strength that it couldn't handle before.

I think you are reading too much into this. The reason that the badges weren't there was the solaris thing, true, but Apple's web site runs on multiple servers. It takes time to properly set up and replace machines, especially when you have a corporate presence as large as Apple's and need to make sure you don't screw something up. It just took a while to cycle the old Sun servers out of the mix, now that the Sun's are out the badges are up. Apple couldn't use OS X Server until it released 1.2, and then the server guy's had to qualify the systems and make sure everything would work correctly and would be as stable as the Sun machines (something that Mac OS X Server 1.0 couldn't do, but 1.2 can) and that took time (almost a year to cycle the suns out.) Apple would never run Mac OS X PB as it's main servers. It might put one in the mix just to test, but I would even doubt that. Plus, Mac OS X Server 1.2 with Apache would be no different than Mac OS X PB Server version with apache really, except you are running a Beta software that would probably be slower than the previous version. Would you stake your job (or your corporate image) on running your corporate site on a beta if you can run the same site on released software? That said I have spoken with people that have seen Mac OS X Server (based off the public beta) and they said that it rocked. I can't wait!

muahahahaha. I'm reading too much into it? hahahahaha

Take a look!!! It's what I said about MacOS X Server, a new version. It has complete Pro-Aqua look with what Steve said would be in OS X (new Apple Menu and dock.)

Hot Damn, take a look at those screenshots for the server on Apple's site-- webDAV, mySQL, PHP, DHCP, Samba, etc.... Wow they put every possible protocol into a server and put a nice lickable GUI on top of it. I am impressed. I am now much more excited about the server than the client.

Sorry I came off as an "I told you so" but when you where shooting me down and calling me over reactive. I know Apple... Apple does things when they can. If they could professionally run Apple.com on OS X Server 1.2 they would. OS X Server 2 (I'm calling it 2, It might be 1.5) has the capibility to do it.

It's definitely a 2.0 style release.

I'm not too familiar with OSXS, but I know Apple pretty well -- I'm betting that they treated the 1.0/1.2 releases as pseudo-beta releases. They were really waiting for X Client to come out, and then they'd release this alongside. XServer has done poorly because they haven't done any marketing. Let me assure you -- Apple is going to have some huge campaigns about this sucker.

This is like Linux's server power under Aqua -- it really is. They've written superb GUI config apps for each server (super toasty deluxe ones, not the pansy ones that come with X Beta) according to some people who have seen it at MWSF.

I think it's going to be a very, very powerful OS, and if you really took advantage of all the technologies and ran a Xserver/Xclient network with a bunch of servers running under Xserver -- I bet you could do a heck of a lot.

Release it quick and make it really good!
