I am having major problems enabling home directories on the server to mount automatically on client machines. I followed the instructions in the admin guide and help files to the letter. I set up a parent NetInfo domain on the server and rebooted. I then set up a share point (/Users) for the home folders and turned on automounting for the share (via AFP as a static mount in /Network/Servers). I created new users in the parent doamin with their home folders located in the share point. I then set up Directory Setup on the client machines to obtain NetInfo database info from the server using the IP address of the server and the NetInfo tag "network." After rebooting the client machine, I was able to log in as a user defined in the parent domain. The server properly authenticates the user and accepts the username and password, but it does not mount the share point for the user's home folder (/Users on the server machine). Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thing has been driving me crazy for hours, as I can not see any flaw in my setup, yet the client still refuses to automatically mount the shared Users folder from the server. I'd appreciate any help the members of this forum could suggest.
