I have a rev A iMac and a new iMac DV and a copy of OSX Server. The installer crashes when I try to do an unsupported install in both iMAcs, but I've heard that there is some voodoo magic that you can do to install on an iMac. Can anyone email me or post instructions or direct me to a website with instructions on how to do this feat?

Go to www.stepwise.com and look in the mac OS X section for discussions on installing it in iMacs. The latest version 1.2 should be able to do so, but the previous versions may not, especially in the early imacs.

I've read on the Apple tech site that OS X Server is NOT recommended for the iMac! Perhaps this is old news??

I have had success on both platforms.
I found I HAD to format in HFS+ on both...numerous pram zaps were required (in fact, CUDA resets) and you cannot have the
LDA3 or 4 CD's (viewable in ASP)-thats apparantly just impossible--though it seems to me you could edit the installer file for this one?

Single user mode is also helpful in the install...in short, persistance pays and once it was running I was pretty impressed with how well it performed.
