all, I desperately need assistance in setting up my 2 Win '98 SE machines to access my OSX server. At best I can ping the server, but that is it. The Mac Server can not find my windows machines and the Windows machines can not see the Mac. To test the network communication, I can install MacSOHO on one of my other Mac OS9 clients (which can see the OSX server just fine) and poofff I can see and share files between that Mac and the PC's! What am I missing???? Am I not suppose to communicate with the Win 98 machines using TC/IP??? Thanks for any help!

A little more info would be helpful (server version, services that are running, etc.).

Download the Admin Guide and read about Windows Services (starting on page 93): http://download.info.apple.com/Apple...dmin_Guide.pdf

I think you have to have WINS enabled for the Windows clients to see the server in the Network Neighborhood. Just enable WINS on your OS X Server and set it as the master browser.

Hope this helps.
