I am in need of building a new server for our office. We are mostly mac, but I have not had a good expiriance with appleshare IP/OS9.

I need 300 + gig and want it to be fully redundent raid 1.

I have specked the whole thing built as a Win2k server, and all is easy to do.

Is there any way I can set this up on a Mac?? I guess I need to wait till Apple ships a "real" (read rackmount) server, that can hold 8 drives and support an 8 chanel ide raid controler....

Ask MacGurus. Seagate came out with first 160 GB Barracuda. review is on StorageReview.com (problably Tom's Hardware will do one shortly).

I think 39160 or two - you can also go with hotswap firewire raid as well with some decent specs to boot. Granite Digital or someone.

No even ever lost a job recommending IBM iron. And OS X Server 2.0 ain't here - yet.
