How is OS X Server going to be able to be administrated from a remote location? Since we do not want to have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse always hooked to it. I have used VNC for windows servers but how will it be done in OS X Server?

Just like ASIP you have a stand-alone admin utility that can be run from any machine on the net. You will get the same options as you have from running the admin program from the console.
Additionally you can use Apple Network Assistant instead of VNC. That should work a little better than VNC, but you won't get the cross platform options.
Also you can do some, maybe all, I haven't explored this too much, of the admin from the command line over an SSH connection.

Is there a VNC client and serve for OS X, if so where, I haven't been able to find one?
Thanks,
Gomer

Yes there are both VNC client and servers for OSX.
I've used some of the clients but not the server yet.
Also Timbuktu is available for OSX in a beta form but it has been out for a while and I think the final one should be coming soon.
Check versiontracker.com for these. However the admin program is everything you need for remote server admin and less hassle, as long as you are coming from an OSX machine.

i know there is a vnc client for OS X, but I don't think there is a server yet. that'd be a fairly big undertaking to write.
if someone can prove me wrong, please do.

The UNIX VNC Server was just ported to Mac OS X, I gave it a try the other day. I works pretty well but keep in mind its a pre 1.0 release. Play around with it, I found it to be pretty responsive even for a pre-release.

I have had pretty good luck with OSXVNC. Version 0.5 didnt like when the display went to sleep, but the current version 0.6 works like a champ. I have been using it since the beginning of last week. What I would like to see from Apple is a terminal services client similar to what Citrix and Windows Terminal Server offers. That would rock.

Quickly back to my first posting. While users do not have access to say alter files they can still view files. As a guest you can easily cat or more on a file and just have it display the contents in your browser window.

I have tried the server and really like it. Where can I find a client that will work under OS X?
Thanks,
