So, I just got one of the three copies of OS X Server 10.0 my company is going to be installing and I am setting it up on our File Server machine...
One of the things I want to do, now that everything in our office will be running OS X in one form or another, is set up NetInfo... but I have no idea what I'm doing and the information i have found so far in the Admin guide is really not helping.
So, anybody in here an expert with NetInfo? Any NetInfo expert care to earn their stripes trying to help me learn this damn thing?
Alternatively, does anyone know of a good source for information on running NetInfo?
Ciao!
PS - According to the install flyer, I should have had the ability to set-up this machine as the parent NetInfo server for the network during the Setup Assistant portion of the install, however, I didn't get that as an option, only use for local or point to a parent, should I be worried?

I'm definitely not an expert. Oh, and I haven't used the shipping build yet.

There's an old manual available *hmya* but I don't know what, if anything, might have changed since that was written.

Yes. But only a little It was there when I installed, but anyway you can change it at any time with NetInfo Domain Setup (in Utilities/).

Mumble,
Thanks for the info, that manual may be just the foundation i need to move forward. i have been doing some research since I posted this, but it is slow going.
I have tried to set the new install as the parent netinfo server, but it doesn't seem to want to work, it keeps resetting to being local only. I may have to try a reinstall if I don't figure out something quick, maybe it's time to call Apple tech support!
Ciao!
