I received my Mac OS X Server 10.0.3 yesterday, and installed in on our test machine (a G4 Server).
One of the reasons I wanted it fast, was that Apple advertised MySQL as part of the technology being deployed with it (and there are some glitches with the binary version of MySQL for Rhapsody that I hoped they had corrected).
But no MySQL got installed, I find no mention of it in the documentation, and a find from / does not return any files named mysql.
So - what gives?
Secondly - can I simply transfer the MacOS X 1.2 version of MySQL to the new server, or do I have to compile the source or await somebody creating the new tarball for me?

As of MySQL-3.23.37 you can compile, make and install mySQL right from the source for OS X, and I would also assume for OS X Server now that it is the same Core.

Ya its easy to install, but we shouldnt have to, as Apple clearly states the PHP and Mysql are included.
Internet and web services:
Apache web server
QuickTime Streaming Server
WebObjects 5 Deployment
Mail (SMTP, POP, IMAP)
WebDAV
SSL
PHP
MySQL
JavaServer Pages
Java Servlets
Perl
Mac CGI
Caching Web Proxy

Well, what can I say, it's not there, I checked for everything else on the list, and they're all accounted for, but MySQL isn't in their... such is life!
I say move on, it's a minor inconvenience to install and it isn't like you won't have to redo OpenSSl and OpenSSH anyway... the versions included are not the current ones.
Ciao!
