Well actually this is some serious stuff. I go to college at Northwestern Michigan College. We have a couple of labs over here that have Macs. One of them is about to be upgraded to a new edition of $999 imacs. Campus IT is pushing big to end Macintoshes all together on campus. They use some "incompatibilities with NT/Novell environment" as an argument to cut Macs at their knees. Here is the best of what I can make of a problem description.
1. Every single student has their own Q

Drive that shows up on any pc on campus where they keep their files. We are using Novell Netware. I can tell that by the novell login and scripts running. That Q

Drive is something that Macs on campus never had. I don't know what operating system the server runs, but I guess it is Novell(or NT). Communications department wants it, but IT says "there no frikin way it will be possible".Is there anyway to put something in each student profile on a single Mac OS X system to map their q dirve from that server.
2. We have to manually create an account for Macs. All pcs are automated. The only thing we get is a roster of students that are registered for classes in Communications. We make those accounts from that roster. Is there any way to write a script that would automatically create accounts using certain profile? I guess the suggested sytem will be Mac OS X running a server.
I am sorry for using such poor descriptions, but currently I am deprived of access to the necessary information because I am a volunteer. I don't have a mac os x/os x server system to play with and figure out some stuff like profiles, scripts and etc.I will appreciat any help.
