Okay Folks...
I'm pretty green when it comes to the features of OS X Server so please be kind... I did buy the 1st OS X Server last year and while it had netboot features it needed to be a BOOTP?DHCP?? server to provided that service and our network admins said 'no-go WE are the only people allowed to do that' (I can understand that but I was pissed just the same).
So, fast forward to OS X Server 10.0 and I've heard that it can now provide netboot services WITHOUT needing to be a BOOTP/DHCP server.
Questions:
- Is this true?
- do the existing BOOTP/DHCP servers need any changes on their end?
- how is the speed? (over 100mb ethernet - switched)
For those using netboot on a 'switched 100-T network' any specific things I need to know?
Thanks in advance...
Oh also totally different topic (sorta)... has anyone had any experience with OS X and Peoplesoft?
