Really don't know much about it. What does it come with, how good is it, what can it do, what client applications do you need, etc. Just wondering. I assume it's some sort of UNIX thing with a pretty face on it, but I freely admit to being pretty ignorant about it. Apple's site offers pretty scant info, actually.

Apple offers both its own mail server (called AppleMailServer, and has GUI configuration) and sendmail (which you must configure yourself). AppleMailServer does SMTP, IMAP and POP. It has controls over message sizes, message deletion, junk mail lists (to reject certain SMTP servers), etc. I suggest you download the Admin Guide and look through the settings available for AppleMailServer.
