What ever happened to Apple Network Assistant (or "ANAT")?

It suddenly became only available with Appleshare (for OS9), and now it seems to have dropped off the radar completely. It gave some great abilities to install software over a network, audit macs from one point and remote control (like VNC or Timbuktu).

With the move to OSX Server 10, it seems to have vanished from the Apple web site. Can Mac Manager (included with OSX Server 10), carry out machine software audits over a network and replace most of the functionality of ANAT??

(cross post - apologies)
