I just wanted to point out this nice little freebie app. It's still beta and crashy, but it has a lot of potential.

It downloads all the info from IMDB so it saves a lot of work, and it even downloads the DVD cover image.

I think once the crashiness is gone it will be awesome.

Any other similar programs you guys use?

I use this one: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/9277

Even though it doesn't grab all the info off of IMDB, what it does do is export the list to either text, HTML, or CVS. It's really nice if you want to keep a list of your DVDs online. My only gripe with it is that File>Quit causes it to crash whereas closing the window makes it quit nicely. It's free as well.

I started using DVD Cache a few days ago, and love it. The best part is that I don't have to go through several hundred DVDs looking for obscure info on the back. Just download from IMDb.

heh, I get "IMDB: Permission Denied" now.

You are required to have a license or something to use IMDB's Database...

I know this prolly just looks at the HTML, but still.

It's working fine for me. I've entered in a few DVDs and it's pulled the information in just fine.

If it had a 'check-in/check-out' feature (similar to DVD Library) so I could keep track of who has borrowed what, that would make this application perfect.

If you have php/mysql up and running on your system, check out openDB, an open source project with a web-based interface for DVD/DivX/CD management. It has check-out feaures, can pull information off of a variety of sources (IMDB, Amazon, CDDB, etc.), and supports multiple users. It also lets you search through your collection by title, actor, rating, etc. and allows users to post reviews of the media. I installed it a few days ago, and have loved it so far.
