I was wondering the same thing. I hope that they will continue to work on Camino. I miss the speed of it!

The guy whose computer was used to compile the nightly builds was one of the people recently laid off by AOL. From what I understand the Camino developers are working on setting up another computer to do this, but it'll take some time (since no one's getting paid for this project, its all out of the goodness of their heart)...

I sincerely hope that they put the bookmarks back into a sidebar because the current "let's take up the whole window to display bookmarks a-la Safari" is really annoying.

(What this has to do with the topic is beyond me.....)

I actually like that feature a lot, helps keep the bookmarks organized.

I just think it could be implimented a little better like having an option for viewing it within the page for when you want to organize your bookmarks. For a few reasons, I like to be able to see the page I'm looking at when choosing a bookmark. I just find it to be rather quick that way. *shrugs shoulders*

I totally, 109% agree with you. I'm on the verge of insanity with Safari's content container abduction scheme just to get a bookmark.

There is a lot of activity on bugzilla lately. The biggest thing thedevs are working on is the rewritten bookmarks system:
http://www.jasperhauser.nl/camino/bl...bm_preview.jpg

But there wil be a loot more bugfixes and feature additions when the nightly's start comming again. (Mike promissed he would get it working again early this week)

I'm using Camino most of the time now. Unfortunately, it doesn't do to well with gotomypc.com so I use IE for that. I loved Safari in beta but less loved in 1.0.

Is it possible to grab the source via CVS or something and compile it ourselves?

Move all of your bookmarks into the Bookmarks Menu Collection. This way they'll be available through the menu as well as the normal way.

I was going crazy with this too until I realized how easily it was solved.

If you want some regular news on any of the Mozilla products just visit the www.mozillazine.org site. They host the forums for most of the projects. And otherwise youu should sunscribe to the mailing lists of those projects.

Yes it's the latest version. The problem showed up after using it a while (in the beginning the cursor didn't show up in other tabs, but after a while I saw it again)

AFAIK, the bug (Bug 204024) I was referring to doesn't have anything to do with the cursor not showing up period; it had to do with the cursor not becoming a hand over links (and the links not displaying their :hover state).

It's working perfectly for me in that respect, but if you're sure it's the same bug, yes, get it reopened.

Ok this *is* a different one. What I was describing is sometime when you have text field in some tab, with a blinking cursor in it, when clicking into some other tab, you see the cursor blinking at the same relative position of the window of a *different* tab.

And I thought you guys were talking about the quirk where Camino sometimes doesn't even show a cursor in a textbox - you have to click into another one and then back for the cursor to start flashing

So, I'm here on my slow 56K connection wondering if there are any new features or reasons to wait for the nightly to download. So, are there?

The only 2 differences that I noticed are:

1) Integrated google search (like Safari) that allows you to search google, google images or the site that you are currently viewing.

2) Full window bookmark editing, again, very similar in style to Safari.

Both of these features have been in the nightly for a while now. If anyone knows any other new tidbits, please share.

Yes, when I use Camino on 56K (when I'm on the road or something), Camino is much much much much faster than Safari. (Well for me it's always faster than Safari, but the difference on 56K is inimagineable).

Hey, I'm on a dial-up. I guess I may download the nightly after all. I'm using the 7/15 build now and I'm using it most of the time at home now due to how well it builds pages over Safari. And when I click a link for the last post on these forums, Camino takes me right to it, then finishes building the page, whereas Safari doesn't take me to the anchor until everything is loaded. Camino seems to load faster in many cases too, and it is usually compatible with most pages. Still, Safari has features I really like..spellchecking, autocomplete in forms, faster scrolling, PithHelmet ad blocker, more.

Anyone else having problems with Camino's 8/6 nightly build? Stuffit starts to expand the download, then freezes and locks up my entire system. I've tried 2 different downloads with the same result.
Guess I'll wait for the next nightly.

The gz file seems corrupted (size only 7.1MB instead of more usual 7.4MB).

GZip is corrupted, causing a total system lockup.

Yet another Stuffit Security issue. *sigh*

Yes, the 8/7 nightly expands just fine, even though it's also a 7.1 MB download.
