Hey guys~

Cool down! you are over reacting~
I'm as loyal as any of you in term of Mac! I'm just given the news about update relating to Mac applications, don't be so fascism! If you don't like it leave it alone! Your reaction reminds me of PC people!

Not sure why you wouldn't share this info with us if you knew it was also available on MacUpdate??? You think I would took all the trouble of uploading it to my web-site if I knew it was available on MacUpdate? Wouldn't post its link be much eaiser? Use your head man!

Where did you get it from since you uploaded it to your .Mac page?

It has been available at Microsoft.com for 11 days now (I know the page still says 3.5 but you download 3.5.1).

It's generally not a good idea to download software from anywhere but the company's web-site or some other official download location. You don't know what you're really downloading when you get it from a third party (such as someone's .Mac page). It could easily be a piece of software that really fscks your system. I'm not saying this was erichen's intent, of course, but I just wanted to provide a general warning to people.

In the future, why not just provide a link to the site from which you downloaded the software?

JLL~

After I launched MSN Messenger, it automatically asked me if I want to download a newer version! After I updated, before I uploaded to my personal web-site, I went to MSN's web-site......just like you said, I only see version 3.5. Then I checked Version Tracker, and I didn't see any update on MSN Messenger!

(What's the point of going through all these troubles if you could see the update every?? Right?)

It was there, though they might be late sometimes. It is better to send a new version note to VT Staff and link to it when it is released overhere, then put it on your own site.

This not in the last place because of legal issues. But also because when downloading from the MS website, people know it is distributed by MS themselves.

Maybe because Proteus is a "work-in-progress" software with really important features missing? Like file transfer and multiple chats?

Maybe...

Uh, most people don't make it a point of offering a link to a .1 update unless there's something new and super inside.

Bugger off wanker.
