This may be a dumb questions but here goes. I just bought a new G4 with only OS X.2 installed. If I use CC Cloner to duplicate my existing G4 HD to the new machine do I end up with 2 OS X systems or does it 'write over' the existing OS X.2 so I end up with a cloned copy of my existing G4 HD.

I used CCC to clone my FWHD when my internal HD died but then I was cloning to the newly installed internal HD that was empty.

I would also appreciate it if I could get some definitions for the following terms. Backup, Synchronize, Duplicate.

Right now I use Retrospect Express to Duplicate my internal HD to my FWHD so that I have an exact copy of my system I can use if, god forbid, my internal HD dies again. Can I use CCC in the same way as I'm using Retrospect Express?

Thanks for the help.

Doug

Doug:

CCC is truly amazing...you will NOT end up with (2) OS X systems on your computer, because you can choose to have the "Target" drive erased before the duplication happens.

And, yes, I would definitely use CCC to "duplicate" your drive instead of Retrospect Express...CCC can do alot more and is probably faster in what it's doing.

Enjoy!
