Hello,
After reading all the ( bad) comments on Opera, I tell you why I downloaded Opera. When, with safari, I browsed to the macromedia site ( and many others) I often encountered a broken link icon on the pages.
Downloading the flash and other plugins did not solve the problem. And how much I like Safari, Opera seems not to have that problem.
I would very much like to solve the broken link issue in Safari ( if I knew how ?!) because working with two browsers is confusing. All the help is welcome.
Thanks

When I have a problem in Safari, I fall back to Camino, and then to IE. I never use Opera. I used to be a big fan of OmniWeb, but Safari and Camino are pretty nice free alternatives these days.

There is definitely a lot of bugs in Safari GM (version 1.0), but most of them is now fixed in 1.1 (the one in Panther), so if we're lucky Apple will post it for Jaguar soon. (phew)

System Preferences->QuickTime->Plug-In->MIME Settings turn OFF Flash file handling.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

You know, I usually try not to bug people about grammar, but seriously. There is a lot of bugs?

The original statement was fine.
"Of bugs" and "in Safari GM" are prepositional phrases. They can be ignored.
"Lot" is the direct object.
"Lot" is singular; thus, the verb "is" is also the singular.
That's how it works in american english. However, I believe british english treats group-like nouns as plurals.
Now, back to your regularly-scheduled discussion.

The American school system taught me to say "there are a lot of bugs". Well, that's how I remember it.
I think the second part of the sentence should read "but most of them are (not is) now fixed in 1.1" regardless of how you treat the first part of the sentence.
