Last week my brother in law walked up to me with a question about Entourage. It seems that whenever he quits Entourage a window pops up with a progress bar and the line "Deleting items". I have no idea what exactly it is that Entourage is deleting at that point but I have to Force quit the app for it to stop. The Cancel button is there but does not respond to mouse clicks. I checked his schedules but the "Empty deleted items" feature was disabled there.

Could it be that Entourage is going berzerk? He has an insane amount of mails in there as his email database is 6,64 GB. And that just from this year.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe it's an option in the accounts settings. It is just deleting email from the deleted items folder.

I thought Entourage v.X updated to 10.1.2 would only support 4GB databases (Entourage v.X pre-SR1 and Entourage:2001 only support 2GB databases.)

Anyway, you might try rebuilding the database (launch Entourage with the Option key held down until the rebuild dialog appears. See the Entourage ReadMe file.)

You might also check for any other Schedule triggered "on quit".
