Here's my dilemma. I just bought a new Powerbook. It won't let me play the music I purchased through the iTunes Music Store because it says I've already authorized three computers.
Problem is I no longer have the others. I had two iBooks, the 2nd one being a replacement after Apple declared the first one a lemon. That would make two. The best I can figure is that the third is coming from having the first iBook authorized a second time after it got repaired one time. (I hope all that made sense.)
So, how do I deauthorize computers I no longer have? I'm at a loss here.

Thanks.

AFAIK, you don't, you have to deathorize them before you get rid of them. Yes, this sucks.

According to Apple's Knowledge Base, you should contact them to deauthorize a computer to which you no longer have access: Knowldege Base Article

That would make it sound like it's possible.

It also says how in the help section of the iTMS. In short, you have to contact Apple to deauthorize a computer you no longer have.
