I have no need for Entourage/Exchange capabilities. Given this, should I do the upgrade? Are there any significant fixes to Entourage/Word/Excel/PP?

I wondering the same thing, I have no problems whatsoever with any of them and do not need the Exchange Server feature either. Does the update make a difference? Lets be honest please...

I have had the update in place for about 10 days and have had no problems. One caveat- I do not use Entourage extensively.

After applying the Office 10.1.4 updater (I was previously at 10.1.2, on OS 10.2.6) I didn't immediately notice any changes (other than limited Exchange support). However, I soon noticed that on saved eMail in HTML format with references to images on the network (e.g., Apple Newsletters and announcements), the graphics no longer displayed (little red box with X), as if I'd disabled the "Allow network access when displaying complex HTML" option on the Read Preference tab. (I tend to keep that option OFF until I encounter a message I want to view, then I switch it on.) Images actually included in the eMail messages still displayed correctly.
I'd installed a couple of other things since I last remembered that working properly (including the recent Security Update), so I wasn't certain of the cause. I went back to 10.1.2 (removed office, reinstalled from CD, re-applied 10.1.2) and the images re-appeared.
That could be incidental or causal. (I suppose a test would be for me to re-install the 10.1.4 update and see if the problem returns. I haven't gotten the energy to do that yet, and have no use for any Exchange access for several weeks. Another test would be to hear from someone else who installed 10.1.4 if they can view the images in an Apple Newsletter or similarly composed HTML message.) For now I consider it anecdotal. The Microsoft Entourage newsgroup didn't show any reports of that behavior.

In 10.1.4 Entourage finally displays number of messages it recieves in the bottom right corner. I have to addmit I missed that feature. Been running the update since it came out with no problems.
