i hope i can explain this clearly.

say you have multiple tabs open within one safari window. you spawn another tab by command clicking a link in the left most tab. it will open all the way to the right. that's fine, but i'd love a pref that would -- when i close the tab i just opened -- allow me to jump directly back to the tab that i came from, instead of displaying the tab directly to the left.

make sense?

Makes perfect sense. That's how Opera implements it, and that's what Apple should do. And while they're at it, Apple should steal Opera's "Open tab in background" right-click functionality too.

I'd love that option too. Make more sense to me.

Disable "Select new tabs as they are created" in the Safari Tab preferences.

I'd like to hold a modifier key and, with the mouse, move the tabs into a different order.
