So, I stumbled across a neat little feature of Acrobat (5, though I'm pretty sure it's in other versions too) called Web capture. Just by typing in a URL, Acrobat can capture a page, several pages, or an entire site (!) to a single PDF with working links. This is perfect for me as I'm doing research and planning a class that I'm teaching. It would prove to be much better for my needs than printing to a PostScript file and Distilling or else creating a PDF a la OS X's print dialog (cleaner-looking PDFs, smaller file size, links intact, etc.)

However, here's the snag: I can't seem to figure out how to get Acrobat to accept cookies. One of the sites I'm PDF'ing pages from requires me to log in, and the log in system requires cookies. Bummer.

So I suspect I'm out of luck and will just have to PostScript and Distill (which is not the end of the world). But I'd be very happy if someone can prove me wrong.

do you want just that page?

go to your browser and choose 'save as...', this will create a local copy on your hard-drive which doesn't require cookies.

if you need the whole site then this won't work as well, but if you just want that page it is an acceptable solution

Hmm, that might just work, though it's almost as much effort as PostScript --> Distiller.

Thanks, though. Definitely a good suggestion.
