I love Mail.app's ability to tag and folder junk, but I would really like to be able to have it also remove that junk from the server at the same time it moves it to the junk folder.

Has anyone figured out how to do this? Possible? AppleScript?

Just modify the Junk rule to make it do what you want.

AFAIK: There is no "remove from server" as a setting in the rules.

What exactly do you mean by "remove from server?"

If you mean that you want to remove it from the server and keep it local then use "transfer message" in the rules.

In the POP mail preferences you can leave messages on the server (mail server) for up to XX days. This leaves a copy of the email on the server.

For me, I use a IMAP webmail client during the day and POP at night, so it is nice to leave the messages on the server to look back on. I have it set from 30-60 days for most of my accounts.

IIRC in Eudora, there was a "delete from server" or "remove from server" filter setting. Just looking for something like that in Mail.app. I will try transfer.
