Please help... my head is bleeding...
I am trying to migrate my years and years of email from Eudora for Windows to EITHER Apple Mail or Eudora for Mac OS X. You'd think both would be easy... I'll have to applaud Microsoft here... at least all but my really ancient PowerPoint files could be opened effortlessly.
Anyway, I hooked my PC to my Mac via Ethernet and copied my Eudora for Windows folder "My Mail" over to my Mac. One hurdle down.
Then I set it up in the structure specified by Eudora Mail Cleaner, and started it. It scans my folders for a while, then says "Importing file 1 of 315...". It quickly pulls in my nicknames (I think), then says "Importing file 2 of 315..." and "Mailbox: Attachments Folder/error7.log". There it stays... its been running at 98% cpu... logged 2 hours of cpu time... no progress.
So, I figure I'll abandon getting into Apple Mail direct from Eudora for Windows. Instead, I'll go into Eudora for Mac, and once that's working, go from Eudora for Mac to Apple Mail.
So, I follow Eudora's migration instructions... its beyond me why they support import from Claris and Outlook but not from their own app on Windows. Sheesh. Anyway, I fix all the file suffixes and strip out all the carriage returns. Then I start up Eudora.
It tells me "Sorry, but that doesn't seem to be a mailbox" during startup and anytime I try to access "In" or "Out". The mailbox menu shows all my subfolders, but not my individual mail folders.
I try the same without stripping the carriage returns... same result.
I also try Eudora Mailbox Cleaner on this Eudora Folder... now it just hangs when scanning.
HELP!

I can't switch without my email!
Has anyone ever successfully moved their email from Eudora for Windows to either Eudora for Mac or Apple Mail???
