I'm new to Macs and OS-X and have just started first project in iMovie. Clips imported fine, titles and fade effects all OK, but when I drag a sound effect into one of the empty timelines (doesn't matter if middle or lower), the application unexpectedly quits. Every time. Tried reinstalling iMovie 3.03, same problem.

Can anybody help?

Don't have an answer offhand - 3.03 is supposed to be fairly stable.

What kind of machine are you on? How much memory? That might make a difference. I know that dragging and dropping in iMovie tends to stress it out - mine sometimes crashes when I try to drag clips on the clip viewer. I've learned the hard way to save often (Applekey-S).

G4 1.42 1024 Ram and 3 Hard drives. Adequate for most tasks I'd have thought!

Yeah - I can't imagine your hardware is the problem.

I tried iMovie3 when it was first released and lost an entire week of work. I wrote a scathing letter to Apple, reinstalled iMovie2, and haven't tried iMovie3 since. However, reports seem to indicate that iMovie3.03 is much more stable than 3.0

Good luck - wish I could be more help.
