Does iChat make proper contact to ICQ for you?

I wanted to switch to iChat full time as soon as there was ICQ-compatibility. Now there is (on AOLs side) but everything my buddies get from me is the text-message conterminated with style tags.

Is there a way to work around this? Are you experiencing it too?

It might help if you tell us how to call an ICQ user with iChat.

What do you enter in the "New Chat With Person:" field? Just typing the number didn't do anything when I tried it.

The newest version of ICQ also supports AOL names... But I think that iChat needs a small update to be able to use ICQ numbers.

But, I dont think that we'll get it before 2005 with Apple's slow iChat development.. (Yeah AV is nice, but come on.. 6 months?)
