I used to have a script called "desktop maid" for use under OS 9 and the old one doesn't work under X and is also not readable by OS X-apple script.
someone told me for whatever-X-structure-reason it wouldn't be possible to have something like that under X anymore. but so much is possible in OS X, I can't believe such a simple script wouldn't work?!

I was looking for the same thing, a script that would tile my icons along a specific edge by file type ... maybe even excluding the tiling of specific items.

Has to be possible ... does Panther have any new Desktop enhancements?
